Structural Performance: Provide SHADEPORTS
Capable of withstanding the effects of wind loads according to local building codes and authorities having jurisdiction and as follows:
Basic Wind Speed: For project location 80-120 mph.
Product Data:Submit manufacturer’s specifications and installation instructions for type of SHADEPORT unit required. Include methods of installation for type of mounting surfaces.
Shop Drawings: Submit shop drawings for special components and application conditions of SHADEPORT units which are not fully dimensioned or detailed in manufacturer’s product data. Show relationships to adjoining work.
Samples: For initial selection, submit manufacturer’s color samples consisting of actual pieces of fabric and other exposed accessories available for type of SHADEPORT treatment required. For verification purposes, submit samples of each component, material and finish which will be exposed to view, for type of SHADEPORT treatment required. Prepare samples from same materials to be used for the work.
Provide SHADEPORT units which is a complete assembly produced by and installed by one manufacturer for type required, including fabric, tube, pipe or structural framing, brackets, fasteners and hardware accessories.
Field Measurements: Verify dimensions by field measurements before fabrication and show recorded measurements on shop drawings. Coordinate fabrication schedule with construction progress to avoid delaying the work.
General Warranty: Submit a written warranty executed by the manufacturer.
Steel Structure: Ten years against failure due to corrosion, deterioration, or faulty workmanship.
Shadecloth Cover: Ten years against failure due to fading, rot, hail, ultraviolet deterioration, or faulty workmanship.

Shadecloth:l UV protected high density polyethylene knitted shadecloth, meeting the requirements of ASTM E 84.
Thread: Manufactured by Sunguard, UVR Bonded Polyester. Utilizing the Lockstitch sewing method.
Structural Steel: All steel components shall conform to the requirements of the following ASTM specifications. ASTM A-36, A-53, A500, A513, and A-569.
Bolts: Shall conform to the requirements of ASTM A307 and A325 and Installed per the Structural Specification for Bolted Connections ASTM.
Tensioning Cable: Shall conform to ASTM A-603.
Hardware: Cable connections shall be stainless steel.
Galvanizing Process: Structural steel and hoops corrosion resistance shall be obtained by using a patented triple coat process. The first coat is the patented Flo-Coat process of a molten zinc bath, the second coat is a chromate application and the third coat is a polymer coat for durability.
Powder Coat Process: The steel shall be dipped in an acid bath to remove any unwanted substances, then pre-heated to remove any welding gas impurities. The powder coating, in the approved color is electro-statically applied then baked.
Steel shall be fabricated and erected in accordance with the recommendations of the AISC Manual of Steel Construction Code of Standard Practice. Welding shall be in accordance with the latest edition of the American Welding Society Structural Welding Code ASW D1.1 All welders shall be certified in accordance with the requirements of section 5 of AWS D1.1 structural welding code.
